Disabled Children

In many areas, there is a high level of incidence of some form of disability within Palestinian children. Often, this is the direct result of military operations, which may leave children physically disabled, maimed or traumatised. In Gaza, there is the additional impact of the siege and restrictions on essential items for healthy growth. In most refugee camps and much of the occupied territories at large, it may also be simply an impact of poverty. We provide support for disabled children through community and grassroots organisations, as well as local charities for children with disabilities.
