In these times of a global pandemic, a pandemic which has also hit Gaza’s besieged and bottled-in population, the theme for our calendar in 2021 is “Palestine Cares – medicinal and herbal plants of Palestine“.

It’s been a difficult year for many of us. But even more so for families in Gaza who face continued poverty and violence, compounded by the impact of Covid-19. In spite of the circumstances, our remarkable local partner in Gaza, the Canaan Institute, has continued to provide emergency support and psycho-social interventions to vulnerable kids and their families. The photos below from recent activities (some pre-Covid and social distancing measures) are a testament to the often invisible individuals who carry on making a difference in their communities, even in the face of personal hardship. May we all continue to learn something from them.

Once again, our focus for the fundraising remains with Gaza’s traumatised children. The psychological damage doesn’t go away when all the reminders and realities of violence are still there. And each beautiful calendar bought directly from here will fund one month of therapy for a child in Gaza.

To date, we have helped more than 2000 children overcome complex trauma and re-engage in education, with 500 reached again in 2020.
