Children and their families continue to flee from Jabalia. The Israeli army onslaught and siege of Jabalia in early October has left homes and other vital infrastructure completely destroyed. People who fled say the damage is apocalyptic.

Since then, our teams have been on the ground providing emergency food and essential supplies for those fleeing Jabalia.

Watch below the update from a November distribution, from the incredible Canaan Institute staff and volunteers in northern Gaza.

“From the steadfast north of Gaza”

In the video, two Canaan staff distribute mattresses and blankets – as well as other basic essentials – to families fleeing Jabalia.

In the past few days, the team have completed another distribution to 120 children and their families who have fled the north and are sheltering in tents. With night-time temperatures now below 10 degrees Celsius, these hats, gloves, scarves and blankets are absolutely critical.

Keeping Gaza’s children warm

At the start of the video, you can hear the ongoing terrifying sounds of nearby bombing. Under the bombs, and in spite of the fear they live through daily, this incredible team – now joined by some young volunteers – keeps going.

As they say in the video, this is possible thanks to the support of Hope and Play donations. Thank you for helping to keep Gaza’s children warm.
